Commerce Township's 2026 Recycle Run Impact
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 Recycle Run! Thanks to the efforts of Commerce Township residents, our community helped make a meaningful environmental impact.
The Recycle Run is a statewide initiative led by the Michigan Recycling Coalition that encourages communities to collect and recycle plastic film and other accepted recyclable materials. The program promotes environmental stewardship by measuring the positive impact of recycling, including energy conservation, oil savings, and landfill space reduction. Through the combined efforts of participants across Michigan, the Recycle Run helps keep valuable materials in use while reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable future.
Commerce Community Impact
- Total Bags Recycled: 73
- Oil Saved: 985 gallons
- Energy Saved: 8,395 kWh
- Landfill Space Saved: 1,460 cubic feet
Every bag recycled helps conserve natural resources, reduce energy consumption, and keep valuable materials out of landfills. While each individual contribution may seem small, together they create a measurable impact for our community and the environment.
