The Senior community center is funded through a variety of sources. Most receive funding through the Area Agency on Aging in their area. Many receive funds from local organizations, private grants and municipalities. All centers participate in some form of fund raising by the participants at the center. Raising funds by the senior community center is part of the Department of Aging’s policy on resource diversification, which requires the senior community centers to actively participate in raising some portion of funds for the center.
There is no charge for attending the senior community center and activities funded through the Area Agencies on Aging. Contributions may be requested for some activities or services such as noon meals. In some cases, special classes or activities may be arranged at the senior community center. Such special classes may have a fee, but they are in addition to the activities provided through the regular operation of the center and are voluntary.
People attending the center may attend as frequently or as infrequently as they want. There is no minimum attendance requirement for senior community centers funded through the Area Agency on Aging.
The hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 3:00pm and Friday 9:00 am- 4:00pm. You may contact the senior community center for additional hours.
You may contact People’s Express at 877-214-6073. If you need transportation to the center, they will be able to help you find a way.
