Our busiest time of year at the library is almost upon us... Summer! With the summer rush fast approaching, I wanted to give a quick rundown of makerspace summer rules and reminders.

The Forge will still be running it's usual weekly hours (Wednesday, 2-4:30) throughout the summer, but it will be closed on July 29th & August 19th.

While plenty of people love hanging out in the makerspace all year round, the summer is by far our most hectic season. Thanks to this awesome increase in attendance, we also tend to have an increase in 3D print requests.

As always, we offer free 3D printing at the library. In order to offer this service to as many patrons as possible, we will only process 1 job per person at a time. During the summer, expect wait times for 3D print requests to take a bit longer than usual. Staff may reject large volume print jobs (print requests that are ~300g or more) during the summer to manage the print queue. If your print job is not accepted during the summer for sizing reasons, it can be resubmitted in September for another look.

The Forge is welcoming to patrons of all ages, but for safety purposes children 8 and under must have a responsible caregiver present in the makerspace during their whole visit. Children 12 and under must have a responsible caregiver in the building. Please refer to our unattended children policy for any questions.

Remember, the Forge is open year round, so come by and check it out if you haven't already! We are open every Wednesday from 2-4:30pm. Check our calendar for more information!
