September Video Games Highlights
September has been a terrific month for video game releases in 2026! So we thought it might be a good idea to highlight a couple of the big releases for the month.

CONTROL Resonant on Steam

  1. Control Resonant (PS5/XBOX)

This action adventure RPG is the long awaited follow up to Remedy's 2019 massive success, Control. Jesse Faden (the protagonist of Control 2019) awakens her brother Dylan from a coma to thrust him into a crisis of extradimensional origin. Play as Dylan as you attempt to help the FBC (Federal Bureau of Control) stop the crisis and discover the truth of what's going on.

Fans of the previous game may note that the game is mechanically very different from its predecessor, with a more melee driven combat system that may be reminiscent of series like Devil May Cry.

Buy Onimusha: Way of the Sword - PC (Steam) - Europe

     2. Onimusha: Way of the Sword (PS5/XBOX)

The first entry in the series since 2006, the 20 year hiatus is broken by a smash hit. This character driven historical fiction game follows Miyamoto Musashi, a real world historical Samurai. After being killed and then resurrected, you must protect Kyoto from the evil Genma, monstrous beings from the underworld.

Fans of the original series, Dark Souls, Ninja Gaiden, and Nioh may enjoy this entry.

Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave reveals a lot of new information — Maxi-Geek

     3. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (Nintendo Switch 2)

The iconic turn based strategy JRPG series is back with it's latest entry, and it's taking things to new heights. With a branching story, more things to manage, and a flexible single save system, the game has plenty for you to do and replay as you wish.

Fans of the series, or other tactical RPG games like Unicorn Overlord may enjoy.

The Blood of Dawnwalker launches September 3 - Gematsu

     4. The Blood of the Dawnwalker (PS5/XBOX)

A vampire RPG adventure that you can really bite into. Play as Coen of Laslea, an average peasant villager who becomes a Dawnwalker; a vampire by night, and a human by day. You have 30 days to save the region from vampiric tyranny, and every quest and skillpoint is going to use a chunk of that time. With an engaging story, and a combat system that's a mix of something between the Witcher and For Honor, there's plenty to keep you engaged as you fight your way through the local Vampires and vagabonds.

Fans of the Witcher series, Vampire the Masquerade, and the Elder Scrolls may enjoy.
