Join us for our Summer Reading Kick-Off on Saturday, June 14th! This day is extra special because not only are we celebrating the start of our Summer Reading Challenge, but we are also celebrating Commerce Township's Bicentennial! Help us say "Happy 200th" to Commerce Township and join in the fun!

Registration for our Summer Reading Challenge begins on Saturday, June 14th and runs through August 16th. All Ages are welcome to participate. Residence within Commerce Township is not necessary.

The following is a timeline of events happening on Saturday, June 14th. Please note whether the event is taking place at the Library, on Commerce Road, or at Dodge Park. If you'd like to sign up for the 5K Run/Walk, please click on the link below.

Extra information about events happening at the Library:

  • 10am-12pm: Bouncy House and Obstacle Course (Socks are required for entry)
  • 11am-1pm: Foam Party for all ages (Children will be separated into two age groups for safety)
  • 12pm-2pm: Crazy Craig Juggler (Craig will juggle his way down to the Main Concert Stage on Commerce Rd. around 1pm!)

Parking & Road Closure Information

Please be aware that there will be limited parking available at the Library. You may also park at Dodge Park/Scarlet's Playground, Walled Lake Central High School (South Commerce lot), or Commerce Elementary. Free shuttle service will be available between all 4 locations. A walking path connects Dodge Park and the Library.

Please be aware that W. Commerce Rd. will be closed between Carroll Lake Road and Broadway St. to accommodate the many events happening for the Township's Bicentennial all day. Please detour between N. Commerce Road, Wise Road, and Carroll Lake Roads. 

A free shuttle service will be available at all designated parking locations.
