This project involves the installation of 5,300 feet of 24” water main & appurtenances along the west side of Benstein Road between Glengary Road and McCoy. The new water main will provide redundancy within the system and connect the storage tank at Fire Station #1 to the southern portion of the Township.
The contractor encountered some issues involving the crossing of the lake that caused a significant delay in the estimated completion of the project. This section has been completed, and the majority of the pipe has been installed.
The contractor will be installing gate valves and hydrants along the route over the next several weeks. There is also approximately 200’ of open cut installation remaining at the north end (just south of Glengary Road) to make the connection to the existing system.
The project is expected to be completed in February 2024.
