Eagle Scout Project - Bettering our Parks!

In April 2017, Eagle Scout candidate Joseph Berkheiser along with Troop 308 in Commerce Township built and installed 18 pet waste stations in six of Commerce's Parks (Dodge, Richardson, Bicentennial, Hickory Glenn, Maple Glenn, and Long Park). The purpose of the project was to recycle plastic grocery bags and to help keep our community parks clean from pet waste. Troop 308 contributed over 120 man hours to Commerce Township designing, planning, fund raising, building and installing these waste stations.

The community can help by restocking the waste stations while walking through the parks or dropping off the bags at the Richardson Center.
